Has anyone partnered with a consulting firm for any of the following: 1. Implement Microsoft Teams 2. Implement M365 3. Migration from in-house Exchange to Hybrid environment of in-house and cloud? If so, would love to speak with you to understand how to best leverage professional services especially for Teams and M365. Any recommendations for partners preferably located in Central Indiana?
We partnered with Insight to migrate from a In House Exchange environment to Office 365 for Email, Skype and now Teams. The migration went really well and we're working with Insight on planning the upcoming Skype to Teams conversion. Insight is nationwide, so I'd be hopeful that they have a presence in Central Indiana.
We worked with Valorem in the beginning but we didn't feel like they added much value. My team figured out how to do it themselves. SADA now CoreBTS did provide some assistance to the team for some items and was very helpful. We are currently working with Speridian who bought Xelleration which is doing an SOW around Analytics Portal (Sharepoint Online). We have had good working relationships with Speridian.
We partnered with High Availability Inc to first migrate from our on-prem Exchange environment to Office 365 for Email, Skype and OneDrive. The migration went really well and we're working with HA on the upcoming Skype to Teams conversion. They are HQ in PA outside of Philly but do work nationally. They've also been a trusted partner during M&A activity and Infrastructure as a Service. Can't speak highly enough about them!
We did knowledge augmentation through Aspect https://www.aspect.com/. One of our staff migrated the entire environment over (similar to Deborah's experience) and asked Aspect for specific things. Aspect provided us good guidance throughout the process and wrote for us custom scripts here and there to expedite our migration. You are welcome to call them even though their business model has changed since we worked with them.
A word of caution for when you migrate to M365. If you are migrating SharePoint environment, definitely walk over various scenarios with the consultant you hire and put strong governance and expectations in place. There are some good features in SharePoint 365 that'll make zealous SharePoint users way too excited. Before you know, you'll have sites/collections/groups in AD whose existence nobody can explain. Some SharePoint administration can be done well through PowerShell and some through web UI. Document them for your admin team so they don't have to re-research.
