Honda and the Three Actuals

The philosophy called "sangen" means "three actuals," and it's helped American Honda Motor Company, Inc. produce world-class vehicles. It's simple (though I suspect most companies don't do it), and your company can use it too.

Great short by Tom Triumph called "Honda and the Three Actuals".  I wonder how many of us take a similar approach to our customers using our technologies.  In my last role as CIO, we created a new position called IT Advocate that actually had this focus.  They would meet and talk with our internal users about our Technology portfolio.  The goal was to educate people on what we had and to learn what they used and what they liked or didn't like about our solutions.  That IT Advocate role and the direct feedback from users was a valuable resource to hone our solutions or find better ones.  Let me know what you think.
